Mary has worked in the voluntary sector as a detached youth worker and within the field of alcohol and drug treatment and support services.
In addition, she worked in local authority adult social care services managing assessment and care management. Mary has been a trustee of a UK grant giving charity and chair of the grants sub-committee.
